Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Humanities Program

I chose to attend Belhaven because…I knew I wanted to come to Belhaven when I visited during a Discover weekend as a high school senior. The professors were so welcoming, and the campus was beautiful. I couldn't wait to come and absorb the faith, knowledge, and creativity that I felt Belhaven offered me. I wasn't disappointed!

One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University…The relationships I developed at Belhaven were incredible. My professors really took the time to know who I was and to invest in me. Probably one of the greatest relationships I developed was with my photography professor, Gretchen Haien. From her very first lecture she inspired me to pursue art for God's glory. I still call Gretchen for advice as I navigate life as a photographer!

Because of my degree from Belhaven University…I am able to interact with others inside and outside the art world, and do so from a Christian worldview.

One word to describe my Belhaven experience would be: the darkroom!
