This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Marion Davis Ridgway and Elise Davis. The Scholarship is designed to encourage exceptional students to pursue excellence in their undergraduate studies in science and math in the context of a comprehensive commitment to Biblical Christian faith while preparing to enter a career in the health professions.
Annually, a one $1,000.00 renewable scholarship is made available each fall to a student who declares a major in Biology, Chemistry, or Math while pursuing a pre-professional program in the health sciences. Applicants should be able to demonstrate outstanding abilities in the natural sciences and must be committed to pursuing a greater understanding of the relationship between the Christian faith and modern science.
Applicants must (1) have a minimum ACT of 29 (SAT 1280); (2) submit a completed application for Belhaven College; (3) be admitted to Belhaven College; (4) submit a completed application for the Ridgway-Davis Scholarship (available online); and (5) interview with one member of the Scholarship committee.
