Welcome
Thank you for your interest in the Computer Science at BelhavenCollege
. We offer B.S. degrees in Computer
Science (CS) and in Computer Information Systems (CIS). The department also offers minors in CS
and CIS for students in other disciplines who desire knowledge about technology
used in their field. The department
desires to provide you the best learning environment possible. We operate a laboratory of select
computers for students in the department majors. The department full-time professors have
earned their PhD degrees through Computer Science departments.
The CS degree curriculum contains topics that
prepare the student for graduate school or immediate employment. CS degree course requirements accentuate
theoretical principles using mathematic foundations. The CS degree graduate has skills to
work in computing environments ranging from information technology departments
to research organizations.
The CIS degree curriculum contains topics that
prepare the student for immediate employment in programming, information
technology, and other positions that blend business and technology. CIS degree course requirements enable
