Health Administration Opportunities

Belhaven Future Healthcare Leaders (BFHL), a participant in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Higher Education Network

Belhaven has a new student chapter, Belhaven Future Healthcare Leaders (BFHL) for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).  The purpose of the chapter is to promote educational development of skills necessary for the effective leadership in healthcare organizations that students may serve once completing their studies at Belhaven University.

ACHE also provides information about career alternatives and job opportunities in the field of healthcare management and develops an association with local and regional healthcare executive groups to enhance academic and career opportunities. Students who participate in the program are provided a method of involvement, recognition, and representation in the profession of healthcare management as well as a forum for dialogue concerning the academic program and career planning.

Membership is open to all Belhaven University students and faculty who have an interest in healthcare management. The organization plans to meet at least once per semester on the Belhaven main campus.

BFHL is open to all Belhaven students and Faculty who share and in interest in healthcare administration.
Will meet Thursday, February 7th at 6:00 p.m. in Irby Rm 218

Healthcare Leaders to Host a Bone Marror Donation Drive:
March 22, 2019, 12:00 noon, Irby 206

Belhaven Future Healthcare Leaders will host a Bone Marrow Donation Drive to register donors for the bone marrow registry. The registry is a pool of donors who are available to match with patients diagnosed with blood cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. It only takes a few minutes to become a donor. A cheek swab is all it takes.

The volunteer training for our bone marrow drive with DKMS will be on Friday,  March 22nd at 12pm in Irby 206. We will have a  GoToMeeting for the training with our DKMS representative. All interested parties are invited to the training.

The drive will be held on Wednesday, March 27th from 10:00 until 2:00 in the Student Center. Monetary donations will also be accepted to help process the donors’ swabs at the lab and pay for testing kits.
