Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Psychology Program

Overall, I felt that Belhaven would help me to grow as a thoughtful Christian by not sacrificing academic excellence or critical thinking, while still holding to biblical standards.
One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University... I would have to say that my psychology professor, Dr. White, has meant the most to me. Inside and outside of the classroom, he has challenged my thinking and really helped me to grow intellectually and spiritually. He has been a really inspiring model of an intelligent Christian in a field that, at a surface level, may appear to be incompatible with Christianity-psychology. From psychology to calculus to American literature, my professors have been really caring, and I can tell that they invest a lot in their students. My education at Belhaven, as well as encouragement from the faculty, inspired and enabled me to apply for graduate education as well. I've recently been accepted into a Ph.D. program in Psychiatric Neuroscience.
