What current students say about Belhaven . . .
I'm Ethan Samsel, a freshman English and Political Science double-major, here at Belhaven University. Belhaven has been an amazing experience for me since the very beginning. From the friendly admission staff, to the professors that are dedicated to developing strong, meaningful relationships with students, it is difficult to pick a favorite moment of my experience here at Belhaven. In the center of Jackson, MS, covered in majestic trees, the campus offers students an atmosphere of learning where Christ is the focus. Professors strive to apply different subjects to the Christian world view. Fellowship at BU is encouraging among the students and there is always an opportunity for growing in your relationships with others. As you consider Belhaven, take the time to pray to God about your decision. Hope to see you soon at BU!!!!

Amy Morrow, is a Junior Bachelor of Fine Arts Dance and Bachelor of Science International Studies Major form Fort Worth, TX. "I felt God calling me to Belhaven seven years ago. Every time I experience a life changing moment with a friend, it reminds me why God placed me here. From the professors to peers, Belhaven's community offers a unique bond. There are always opportunities to connect, cultivate, and amongst so many creative minds, a chance to enjoy something new. As I travel and dance, I can confidently present myself with the training instilled in me. It brings me excitement to invite you to take a sneak peak at all God has for you while living at the 'Haven'."

"I am a sophomore theatre major from Kilgore, Texas. I heard about Belhaven from a friend, and when I visited I was completely blown away by the theatre and creative writing programs. I was looking for a school that had a firm foundation in the Christian faith and portrayed that through its academics. The theatre program struck me as unique in its comprehensive approach to theatre education. Not only am I learning to act, but I am also being immersed in the technical, production, and publicity aspects of a show, as well as being constantly challenged by my additional classes. Searching for a school was not an easy journey, but I am confident I am where God wants me to be. I pray that your search for the right school ends the same way."
Jacob Rowan, Santa Maria, CA, Freshman -
I'm an art major and hope one day to illustrate books or do the conception art for video games and movies. I enjoy reading and watching movies. My father is in the Air Force, so I have traveled a great deal and would love to travel more. If I could go to one place in the world, it would be New Zealand. I am the oldest of five and wouldn't have it any other way. I chose Belhaven primarily because it has such a great art program and I wanted to go to a biblically sound Christian college. A lot of the other Christian Colleges I looked at focused more on rules and legalism but I wanted a college that cared about God and wasn't afraid of using things like the arts to glorify him. I would encourage any one looking for a good Christian college to consider us but to pray first for God's will in their life. I am really grateful for this opportunity to go to such a great college.
My name is Danyelle Dover. I am a freshman at Belhaven and loving it. My hometown is Chattanooga, Tennessee, and although I miss it, I absolutely love everything about Jackson. I’m majoring in visual art, and it is a good time! Our art program here at Belhaven is intense and the work is hard, but I know that it is good for me and will make me a better artist—it already is! I am learning more now about art and life than I have ever learned before. I chose Belhaven because it values both education and God on a level of higher standards than I had found at any other school. I had always known that I wanted to go into art— that was a given. But I also didn’t want to sacrifice a good Christian community. Here at Belhaven, I get the best of both worlds. God is truly working here: through the classes, the activities, the students, and the overall attitude at this school! It is so encouraging to know that I am sacrificing neither academic excellence nor devotion to our heavenly Father. My advice to prospective students would be to simply follow God when looking for a school. There are several factors that go into making that decision, of course, but when you get down to the very heart of it all, He is the One in control anyway! So, pray, think, live life—just seek Him!
