Each department is committed to high academic goals for its students and clarifies the implications of Biblical truth for it’s discipline.
Student Achievement
Students will be able to achieve the high academic goals set by program faculty to prepare students in their careers, their relationships, and the world of ideas.
Program Quality
Belhaven University identifies, evaluates, and publishes goals and outcomes for student achievement appropriate to the institution’s mission, the nature of the students it serves, and the kinds of programs offered. For academic programs, the Annual Outcomes Assessment (AOA) focuses on core student learning outcomes and includes the following:
- A statement of each learning competency in measurable terms.
- A specific plan for measuring each competency and reporting the data.
- A statement of expected performance for students assessed.
- Approximate dates of assessment administration.
- A report of actual performance data.
- Plans for curricular improvements where expectations were not met.
- Notes concerning unit outcomes
