In addition to the Annual Fund for Student Scholarships, there are two other options for funding scholarships for Belhaven students. These are Designated and Endowed Scholarships.
Designated Scholarships
Designated scholarships are established and named by individual donors who wish to provide specific scholarship assistance to Belhaven students. Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Financial Aid in accordance with the criteria established by the donor.
Designated scholarships are designed to award both interest and principal over one academic year and may be renewed annually.
Minimum Contribution: $1,500 per awarded scholarship per academic year.
Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarships are established and named by individual donors who wish to provide perpetual scholarship assistance to Belhaven students. Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Financial Aid in accordance with the criteria established by the donor.
Endowed scholarships are designed to preserve and grow the original principal by paying out a minimal amount each year in the form of scholarships and accumulating any excess earnings.
Minimum Contribution: $10,000
With either fund, you will receive annual reporting to include the name(s) of your scholarship recipients, the amounts awarded, and the balance of your fund. To establish either a sponsored or endowed scholarship fund, please contact the office of Development at 601-968-8738 and request our scholarship funding information packet.
