Belhaven University is an important Institution for evangelical learning. The Belhaven Institute for Ministry Leadership will expand the University’s capacities for educating and equipping Christian ministry leaders for functional effectiveness in ministry leadership.

The Belhaven University Institute for Ministry Leadership will also provide concentrated learning opportunities for the successful functional execution of ministry vision, mission, goals, and strategic objectives, in line with biblically centered values and principles.

In addition, the Belhaven University Institute for Ministry Leadership will equip ministry leaders with comprehensive understanding of biblical principles of leadership coupled with contemporary concepts and developments in functional leadership application for the sake of Ministry.

  • Ministry leadership in the context of the Kingdom of God will guide the Institute’s vision and implementation of its work
  • Biblical principles of ethics and leadership will be at the core of curricula and workshop content
  • The best literature on contemporary leadership practice and application will inform Institute programs

The Kingdom of God as taught and modeled by The Lord Jesus Christ will be the core focus of all programs offered through the Institute, and will mark the true ‘Leadership Moment.’

Wallace Henley, Executive Director
Wallace HenleyWallace Henley is executive director of the Belhaven Institute for Ministry Leadership. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Henley attended Samford University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Trinity Theological Seminary. He holds the MA Degree (with high distinction) in leadership studies. The Encourager Bible College of Noida, India, awarded Henley an honorary doctorate for his work in helping equip leaders in developing nations. Henley was a reporter and editor at The Birmingham News, and served as a White House and congressional aide. He was a senior pastor for 25 years, and since 2002, has been a teaching pastor and member of the leadership team under Dr. Ed Young at Houston’s 75,000-member Second Baptist Church. Henley has authored or co-authored more than 20 books, including God and Churchill, written with Jonathan Sandys, great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill. Henley has conducted leadership training in 22 nations. Henley and his wife, Irene, were married in 1961. They have two children, six-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
