Belhaven University offers traditional, online, adult, and graduate programs and needs to keep similar semester lengths for all programs for consistency and quality of service. Federal and state regulations also require the same consistency.
"We wanted to be proactive and move these dates as quickly as possible, which would allow faculty, staff, parents, students, and graduates to adjust their second semester plans," commented Donna Weeks, from the Office of the Registrar. "The administration considered several options to meet these goals, and the adjustment of the traditional programs spring semester by one week seemed better than other options, such as an adjustment in late December."
Belhaven stands among the select Christian colleges and universities that offer a unique general core curriculum encouraging the development of a personal worldview.
