Belhaven Theatre Department Present Johanne d'Arc

October 21, 2013 (Jackson) - The Belhaven Theatre Department will present the play Johanne d’Arc, reimagined and recreated by Joseph Frost and theatre students of Belhaven. This original theatre piece is directed by Joseph Frost, Chair and Associate Professor of Theatre, and will run October 24 – November 2 at the Blackbox Theatre in the Center for the Arts.

Frost said, “We are very excited to be able to feature this production, created and written during the rehearsal process, and offer to our community the chance to be the first audience to see this world premiere production.” Johanne d’Arc is a dynamic visionary telling of the story of Joan, a peasant girl, who is called on by God to lead the fight against the English to reestablish the French throne. Joan is eventually betrayed and put on trial for heresy.

General Admission will be $10. The cost will be $5 for seniors and non-Belhaven students. Admission is complimentary for Belhaven faculty, staff, students, and immediate families. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance.
