FBI Hires Alumnus to Lead Louisville Division

March 9, 2012 (Louisville, KY) - Perrye K. Turner (‘08), a graduate from Belhaven’s Master of Business Administration program, was named special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Louisville Division.

Dr. Charles DeWitt, Dean of Faculty, taught Turner and said, “From his first class I knew Perrye was headed toward a successful career. He was focused on completing his degree, and his academic ability, pleasant attitude, drive to succeed, and unquestioned integrity have paved the way to this well-deserved position. I wish him the best in this exciting endeavor.”

He recently served as a deputy assistant director to the Information Technology Engineering Division at FBI Headquarters.

Turner is from Shreveport, Louisiana and joined the FBI in 1991 as a special agent at the Birmingham Division. In 1995 he worked for the New Orleans Division, where he worked criminal investigations.

By August 2005, Turner was promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Memphis Division where he managed the criminal and administrative programs for three years and all national security branch programs for two years. It was during this time Turner decided to attend Belhaven University Memphis to earn his master’s degree.

Dana S. McLure (’08) was a classmate with Turner and said, “I have known Perrye for several years and consider him a close friend and trusted colleague. He’s passionate about the important things in life – friends and family – and he commands a great deal of respect from all of us who are lucky enough to call him a friend.”
