Music Majors to Perform New Compositions

Student Composer ConcertNovember 4, 2015 (Jackson, Miss.) - The Student Composer Concert XV is a special performance showcasing several musical arrangements from Belhaven student composers.

This free and musically interactive performance on November 10 will explore new ways to experience the adventure of music-making. Students will perform their new compositions live at 7:30 p.m. in the Belhaven Center for the Arts Recital Room.

The student composers for this concert will include Jessica Charitos, Trailand Eltzroth, Rachael McCartney, Wil Murphy and Tripp Stewart.

Dr. Andrew Sauerwein, Associate Professor of Music (Composition and Theory) said, “This music is all newly-minted, a feast for the curious ear! Encounter delightful and evocative piano pieces as well as “chamber music” for a variety of percussion instruments.  The composers and performers are excited to invite listeners into the collaborative process of giving life to new music!”
