Music Series, An Evening of Diamonds, Begins at Belhaven

September 10, 2012 (Jackson) - Belhaven’s Music Department will host its first installment of the Preston Chamber Music Series: An Evening of Diamonds to wrap up Belhaven's Alumni and Family Homecoming Weekend. An Evening of Diamonds will be held in the Concert Hall of the Center for the Arts on October 13 at 7:30 P.M.

Mississippi Symphony Orchestra (MSO) clarinetist, Kenneth Graves, will perform with Belhaven pianist, Dr. Stephen Sachs. MSO violinist Shellie Brown (’12) will contribute her musical expertise to the performance with Graves and Sachs.

The performers will present a night full of classic music including pieces from Gershwin, Poulenc, Khachaturian and many other great composers. “This program offers a kaleidoscope of musical styles,” said Belhaven Music Chair and performer, Dr. Stephen Sachs.

The general admission will be $10, $5 for seniors and free for students with ID. Buying a ticket to the first installment of this chamber series will automatically give you free admission to the other two concerts, happening later this semester.

All Belhaven faculty, staff,students and immediate family members will receive complimentary admission.
