Student Leadership Opportunities

Belhaven University provides multiple opportunities for traditional undergraduate students to serve their fellow students through leadership.  Students who choose and are selected to lead are able to benefit personally and professionally, develop their interpersonal skills, and build meaningful friendships within the student development division.  They will be mentored by professional staff and have opportunists to guide their peers throughout the academic year.

Belhaven Activities Team (BAT): The Belhaven Activities Team plays a pivotal role in the promotion and implementation of student events in order to foster community, increase student involvement, and build an exciting atmosphere on campus! BAT is composed of diverse, talented, active, involved and motivated students who work diligently to provide quality programming for University students. Students can jump right in and serve in this role at any point in the academic year. If you want to find out more about being a part of BAT, contact the BLC President at blcpresident@belhaven.edu.

Belhaven Leadership Council (BLC): The Belhaven Leadership Council is a group of student leaders that serve the student body through a variety of ways through programming and service. Positions on BLC vary in role and responsibilities: BLC President, BLC Vice President, Activities Intern, BLC Intern, Marketing Intern, Ministry Intern, Recreation Coordinator, Ministry Coordinator, Intramurals Coordinator, Activities Coordinator, and Marketing Coordinator. Campus Recreation Team (CRT): The Campus Recreation Team exists to ensure that the department of intramurals and recreation is led with the same unique vision and mission of Belhaven University, by partnering with students to help fulfill and promote the mission in the spirit of the university motto, “to serve, not to be served.” If you are interested in learning more about being a CRT member contact a current BLC member and look for information regarding the application process at the beginning of the spring semester.

Peer Leader: Peer leaders are student leaders that are valuable resources for incoming students during their transition to Belhaven. They specifically serve during Welcome Week, a time of orientation, guidance, and community building for all new freshmen and transfer students. If you are interested in learning more about being a Peer Leader contact a current BLC member and look for information regarding the application process at the beginning of the spring semester.

Resident Assistant (RA): Each residence hall is staffed by a team of student leaders who serve as Resident Assistants (RAs). They are committed to helping residents adjust to life at Belhaven University and encouraging fellow students to grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
