Dance Department Performances

During the 2022-2023 season, the Belhaven University Dance Department is delighted to offer a variety of concerts featuring the Belhaven University Dance Ensemble, Dance Ministry Ensemble, and members of DOXA. Our events include original choreographic works created by our innovative dance faculty, seasoned guest artists, and students studying dance composition. For this series, I invite you to experience diverse styles of dance displaying an array of artistic expressions that will evoke your imagination and enrich your soul.

A showcase of choreography by dance faculty and guest artists, presented by the Belhaven University Dance Ensemble and members of DOXA. Styles include classical and contemporary ballet and modern dance.

Spring 2023 Dance Performances

January 28 Saturday, 7:00 PM Center for the Arts Concert Hall	C2 Arts Concert: Community and Collaboration This event features dance companies, schools, and ministries from the community alongside collaborative works created from the Dance, Music, Theatre, Visual Art, Film, and Graphic Design Departments. General Admission, $10, Seniors/Students $5. Complimentary admission for Belhaven Faculty/Staff/Students and immediate families. Doors open at 6:30pm.
February 9-11 Thursday – Saturday, 7:00 PM Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Studio Theatre	Dance Ministry Ensemble The Dance Ministry Ensemble and DOXA present a selection of original dances created by guest artists and dance faculty aimed to encourage and inspire the spirit of all who attend. General Admission, $10, Seniors/Students $5. Complimentary admission for Belhaven Faculty/Staff/Students and immediate families. Doors open at 6:30pm.
March 3-4 Friday & Saturday, 7:00 PM Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Studio Theatre	Senior and MFA Thesis Dance Concert Senior dance majors and an MFA candidate present an evening of original choreography and performance, created at the intersection of scholarship and practice. This event is sponsored by DOXA. General Admission, $10, Seniors/Students $5. Complimentary admission for Belhaven Faculty/Staff/Students and immediate families. Doors open at 6:30pm.
