November 16, 2010: Congratulations to Coach Steve DeCou who has been selected as the SSAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year. "When you look through the SSAC coaching ranks and see the experience and success that the coaches have attained," says DeCou, "it is humbling and quite an honor to be named the coach of the year. Im so proud of the team and what weve been able to accomplish thus far this year. All the credit goes to my great staff and of course to the boys." DeCou has led the Blazers this season to a record of 15-1-3.

"Steve has led this program the right way, with a commitment to competitive talent, academic achievement and Christ-like development,” says Scott Little, Belhaven Director of Athletics. “Weve seen his tireless work in leading our Men Soccer program with its rich history of success, and are glad others around the country recognize in him what we already know." DeCou is in his fourth year as Head Coach of the Men Soccer Team. The Blazers record under DeCou is 34-16-4.

The Men’s Soccer Team has been selected to be one of 31 teams in the 2010 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Tournament. Their first game of the tournament is against St. Thomas University this Saturday, November 20, at 4:00 pm.
