May 16, 2012 (Jackson) Important information for all students, faculty and staff at all Belhaven campuses: Beginning Friday, May 18 at 3:30 PM, IT will need to shut down the servers in Preston, thus, all network services on campus will be down. This includes emails for all campuses, in addition to access to Blazenet, Cybergate, network drives, internal websites, landline phones. Our applications to apply online for admission to our programs will also be unavailable during this time.
In preparation to begin demolishing the east wing of Fitzhugh Hall, we have been working for months on the relocation of underground lines and the installation of independent mechanical systems for both Preston Hall and Helen White Hall. This Saturday, we will relocate the power transformer on the east side of Fitzhugh. Please note that this will only affect the power in Preston, Fitzhugh, and Helen White. All other buildings on our campus should be operating as normal (with the exception of network connectivity).
With communications shutting down at 3:30 Friday afternoon, all offices on our main campus should plan on leaving Friday at 3:30.

If all goes according to schedule, we anticipate the power and network services to be restored by Sunday evening. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. Please pray that all goes well with the relocation and startup of these new systems. We will keep you updated via the Belhaven website, BU Facebook page and email once the power has been restored.
