June 6, 2012 (Jackson) - Everyday, the Office of Admission staff are putting Belhaven’s motto, to serve and not be served, into action. Danny Shaw was recognized and honored for his part in serving Belhaven University with the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals (NACCAP) Regional Service Award.

Suzanne Sullivan, Director of Admission, said, “It is obvious that Danny enjoys his work and building strong relationships with students and families. He had a great experience as a student at Belhaven and he enjoys sharing that with his prospective students. Danny has led the enrollment team in the number of calls and emails to students and it has resulted in a large number of his students depositing. His service is making a difference to this university!”

The goal of the NACCAP award is to provide recognition to an outstanding admissions/guidance counseling professional within the seven regions. Shaw was the winner for the Southeast region.

Nominees for the awards are considered based on the service and contributions made to the admissions profession that would otherwise go unnoticed. Nominations are not based on enrollment numbers or years of service, but on a heart of giving without expecting anything in return.

Belhaven stands among the select Christian colleges and universities that offer a unique general core curriculum encouraging the development of a personal worldview. The university believes a Christian worldview is a key to preparing men and women academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas.

Founded in 1883, Belhaven University now serves over 3,000 students from campuses in Jackson, Memphis, Orlando, Houston, Chattanooga, Atlanta and online, offering traditional undergraduate degrees, graduate and adult degree programs, and online degree programs.
