August 2, 2013 (Jackson) - It was a bittersweet moment when Fitzhugh Hall’s east wing had to come down on June 29, 2012, but in only a year Fitzhugh was rebuilt, renovated and given new life. Fitzhugh Hall, which will now house the School of Science and Mathematics, is almost complete and will be ready for incoming students on August 17, 2013.

Faculty and staff are now moving into the newly renovated west wing of Fitzhugh. Belhaven University Relations and Web Services are now on the first floor with the academic Department of Communications. The Office of Alumni and Development have made their home on the second floor and the Math Department hold a majority of the offices and classrooms on the third floor of Fitzhugh’s west wing.

In the east wing, science faculty members are already setting up their offices, labs and classrooms to prepare for their students. Here are a few photos of the latest development.
