January 3, 2013 (Jackson) - Belhaven is pleased to welcome a new group of freshmen and transfer students for spring orientation on Monday, January 7, 2013. Belhaven's New Student Orientation is in the Barber Auditorium and starts at 9:00 a.m. with registration starting at 8:30 a.m.

Orientation is a required session for all incoming freshmen and transfer students, designed to welcome students and give them an introduction to Belhaven University. Jo Beth Petty, Director of Student Leadership, said, “Students will have an opportunity to meet fellow BU students which will be valuable connection points during their journey at BU. Students can best prepare for life at BU by being intentional in their relationships - with faculty, staff and their peers. Everyone is here to help students be successful inside and outside the classroom.”

This event will provide incoming students with a chance to meet with student leaders, staff, administrators and others who make up the Belhaven family. Students will have the opportunity to meet their academic advisor, purchase textbooks and start planning for the year. New students also receive IT training so that they are familiar with everything from email to making course selections online.
