May 6, 2016 (Memphis, Tenn.) - Belhaven University Memphis/DeSoto will honor its graduating students on May 13, 7:00 p.m. at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, 6325 Poplar Ave.
Mr. Don W. Jones, assistant vice president for enrollment and student services at Belhaven University, will be the honored commencement speaker this year.
Jones oversees seven Belhaven campuses in Georgia, North Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. He holds advanced degrees in theology, business and education. He is currently completing his doctorate in educational leadership at Arkansas State University.
He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Mississippi State Guard and is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Episcopal Communion. Jones has coauthored two textbooks, several articles, and he is a frequent presenter at academic conferences on topics as diverse as religion in education, emotionally intelligent leadership and marketing. Jones has many interests and hobbies, but his greatest joy comes from his family.
