The 39 Steps posterOctober 19, 2016 (Jackson, MIss.) - The Belhaven Theatre Department is bringing Alfred Hitchcock's classic masterpiece The 39 Steps to the stage. This thriller, packed with nonstop laughs and intrigue, will premiere in the Barber Auditorium on October 19.

This two-time, Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning play has many interesting characters, played by only four Belhaven theatre students.

The play centers around Canadian Richard Hannay who becomes embroiled in an international spy ring related to the mysterious "39 steps." Then he meets agent Annabella Smith, who is soon killed in his apartment. He must elude the police, who are hunting him for murder, while he tries to stop Professor Jordan from sending secrets out of the country.
