Belhaven Theatre Department to Present Comedic Play "Suite Surrender"
January 18, 2023 (Jackson, MIss.) - Belhaven University's Theatre Department announced the upcoming theatre production "Suite Surrender" by Michael McKeever, directed by Elissa Sartwell.
The show will take place in the Blackbox Theatre from February 9-11 and 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. with matinee showings on February 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.
This comedic play is set in 1942 and follows the story of two of Hollywood's biggest divas who have checked into the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel. They have been assigned to the same suite and their legendary feud with one another is about to reach new heights. The play is filled with mistaken identities, overblown egos, double-entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles. It is a love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s.
The production is recommended for ages 12 and up. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and complimentary for Belhaven University students, faculty, and staff and their immediate family. For information or to reserve tickets, email boxoffice@belhaven.edu.
