Belhaven to Host Virtual Commencement May 9

virtual commencement 2020May 7, 2020 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven will host a virtual commencement ceremony this Saturday, May 9, and celebrate the University’s largest single one-day graduating class ever.

In a letter to students, Belhaven University President Dr. Roger Parrott said, “Saturday will be a day of history for Belhaven University as 661 students graduate this semester. Gather your family and join us for a virtual commencement ceremony as we honor our graduates.”
The Belhaven University Class of 2020 includes students that have completed their degrees in the traditional campus program, adult students from branch campuses, online students, and students in China. The degrees include undergraduate, master, and doctoral students.
Dr. Parrott said, “Some universities are delaying their commencements all together, and others are doing a ‘live broadcast.’  But we believe our students want to gather with their families to celebrate at a time that works with their schedule, so we will be sharing commencement by recorded video. This method allows us to include messages of congratulations from the academic leaders who have been important in your degree.”
Graduates will receive an email on Saturday with a link to their commencement. The traditional commencement will be different from the adult, graduate, online video; although the 2020 Belhaven University Commencement Program will be the same and can be downloaded by all.

The commencement video will be posted here and on Belhaven’s social media sites on Saturday morning for all current students, friends, and family who want to share in the celebration.
Belhaven’s Class of 2020 will return to campus for a live, in-person commencement ceremony during Belhaven's Homecoming Weekend, October 30-31, 2020
Graduates: print off the program, gather your family, get some snacks, take graduation photos and post them with #Belhaven2020, and get ready to celebrate your remarkable accomplishment!
