Celebrate National Library Week at the Hood Library

April 14-18, Belhaven students can win prizes just for using the Library!

As part of National Library Week, the Warren A. Hood Library is debuting a new system that allows items to be put on hold, accounts to be updated, and check outs to be renewed. Look for a link on the updated Library catalog webpage at www.belhaven.edu/library and see a Librarian for your temporary password.

National Library Week has been celebrated across the country since 1958 as a way to promote the use and support of libraries. This year’s theme, “Join the circle of knowledge @ your libraryŽ,” offers students, faculty and staff around the country an opportunity to observe the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians. Tuesday, April 15, is National Library Workers Day.

Belhaven Events Include:

Monday – Win a $10 gift card to Books-a-Million for being the 10th person to check out an item.

Tuesday – Win a $10 gift card to Kroger for being the 50th person to walk through the door.

Wednesday – Win a $10 gift card to Starbucks for checking out the 25th item of the day.

Thursday – Win a $10 gift card to Best Buy for being the 30th person to walk through the door.

Friday – Win a $10 gift card to Wal-Mart for being the 15th person to check out an item.

And while you’re there, enter to win an iPod shuffle by filling out a 5 minute survey in the Library or in the Dining Commons.
