Choral Concert Premieres Songs For Slaying Giants
April 24, 2017 (Jackson, Miss.) - The Belhaven Concert Choir and Chorale will present an evening of Psalms from Mozart's transcendent Psalm 117 to John Rutter's tranquil Psalm 23. This choral performance, entitled Songs for Slaying Giants, will celebrate Israel’s greatest lyricist, King David.
Under the direction of Mr. Christopher Phillips, vocal and choral arts professor, student musicians will masterfully perform new and classic compositions of Psalms. This concert on May 2, 7:30 p.m. will premiere in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall. It is free and open to the public; the doors open at 7 p.m.
