Global Silicon Valley and Belhaven University Partner for Entrepreneurial GSV MBA

GSV MBAMay 11, 2020 (Jackson, Miss.) - Today, Global Silicon Valley (GSV) and Belhaven University announced their new partnership to offer the Online Master of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship, an online graduate-level program, focused on developing exceptional entrepreneurs. The online GSV MBA program is designed for anyone with a dream of starting and running a business and will enable graduates to bring their dream to life.

GSV’s Founder and CEO Michael Moe and Belhaven University President Dr. Roger Parrott created the partnership with the desire to make the GSV MBA the premier entrepreneurship MBA program. Moe, who has invested in game-changing companies, authored best-selling books on business, and co-founded numerous successful enterprises, recognized the program’s potential for success with the academically-driven University. “Entrepreneurs are the engine for the Innovation Economy,” said Moe. “Our goal for the GSV MBA is to provide the fuel for students in our program to create the stars of tomorrow.”

Dr. Parrott added, “Inspired vision, turned into actionable results is the goal of this MBA–come with a dream for your new business, and through the program students will build out all the components ready to launch right after graduation. I’m thankful for how the front-edge entrepreneurial experience of Michael Moe and GSV is blended with the academic innovation of Belhaven University to create a degree option that makes it one-of-a-kind. We’re going to have some very successful graduates.”

The 10-course curriculum is developed by highly experienced investors and entrepreneurs from GSV and its network of startups, educators, advisors, and other leaders throughout the Innovation Economy.

The strength of the program is attributed to combined instruction with practice. Students test the models and strategies learned in the classroom by creating a company, launching a real business, and finally pitching their venture in front of investors. Classes are offered in manageable seven-week segments, and students will gain access to and insight from leaders in the entrepreneurial business community.

Studies show that 80% of high school students and 65% of college students want to start their own business or work for a startup. Unfortunately, without the proper knowledge and training, many fail within the first three years. According to Moe, the GSV MBA is designed to fuel entrepreneurs with the knowledge, attitude, resources, and connectivity to not only survive but thrive throughout their startup’s evolution.

The first GSV MBA class is now forming for the summer. For more information, contact Belhaven Online at (601) 968-8881 or email onlineadmission@belhaven.edu.
