Desribe Image Here November 20, 2014 (Jackson) - Belhaven Choral and Vocal Arts will present Gloria in Excelsis: A Christmas Celebration at the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on Saturday, November 22. This free performance at 7:30 p.m. will feature student voices from the Belhaven Concert Choir and Chorale with instrumentalists, student conductors, soloists and orchestra performing Gloria in Excelsis by Antonio Vivaldi.

“Vivaldi is both joyfully vivacious and soulfully tuneful. His Gloria in Excelsis is a treat to perform and to hear,” said, Dr. Christopher Shelt, Professor of Vocal Arts, Choral Arts and Music Ministries. “We will also perform two Gustav Holst Christmas carols with our fantastic freshmen harpist Kate Ray. The harp will add a unique color to these performances. Don’t miss this musical celebration of the Messiah. We hope you will make time to enjoy and take to heart our enthusiastic proclamation of Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords!"
