A higher education degree in sports medicine and exercise science equips students with the scientific basis to prepare them for a wide range of service in various health and fitness professions. The Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science trains students how to pursue vocational environments in areas such as therapeutics, fitness, fitness management, medicine and education. Belhaven's program is one of only a handful that applies a Christian worldview to all aspects of the human body and its performance, as well as the vocations that serve it.

This accredited degree track lends itself to post-graduate study and includes an examination of the scientific basics of exercise science and health and fitness, as well as the groundwork for a career in the health industry and foundational work towards professions in medicine, allied health, teaching, research, and private business.
