Spring 2013

Late Night Bowling: Friday January 11th
Time to bring out the bowling shoes and come to Late Night Bowling on Friday, January 11th at 9:00pm! Bowling is $5 with a Belhaven ID. Meet BAT in the Student Center at 8:45 pm for directions and rides.

Movie Night: Friday, January 25th
Join Belhaven Activities Team for a childhood throwback, SPACE JAM!! Michael Jordan and BAT will be bringing you memories, popcorn, and drinks.  The movie will be starting at 9pm in the Student Center Commons!

Candy Grams! Monday, February 4th- Friday, February 8th
Want to send that special someone a treat? Come by the Candy Grams table in the Student Center and send a special note and candy for $1 a piece or 4 for $2!  Candy Grams will be delivered through the campus mail on Tuesday February 14th and commuters can pick up their Candy Gram in the Cube!

Salsa Night: Friday, February 8th
Join BAT at Salsa Mississippi for a night of dancing from 9pm-12am. From 9-10pm, there will be dance instructors and from 10pm-12am, the dance floor will be open to anyone wanting to show off their Salsa skills! Tickets are $2 and are limited to the first 75 people.  They will be available in the Cube starting on February 4th or at the front door of Salsa Mississippi!

Coffeehouse: Friday, February 15th
Come hear the sweet music by artist Micah all the way from New York City! Visit his website at http://www.facebook.com/micahmusic.  He will be joining BAT on Friday, February 15th in the Student Center from 9pm to 11pm. There will be coffee and food served throughout the event!

Cupid Shuffle: February 16th
Join BAT, Intramurals, and The Perkins Center for a post Valentine’s Day 5k! Registration will begin at 8am at Barber Auditorium.  Runners will begin at 9am and walkers will follow at 9:15 am.  Register now by filling out the form online.  The cost to participate is $10 for students, $15 for faculty and staff, and $25 for community.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt and will be invited to join us after the race for snacks. To confirm your registration please bring your check or cash to the Cube office 102 or by mailing it to:

90’s Skate Night: February 23rd
Bring your best New Kids on the Block outfit and join BAT at Funtime Skateland in Clinton at 9pm! Admission will be $5 cash and we will meet in the Student Center at 8:30 to carpool. 

Gotcha Sign Up:  Monday, February 18th- Friday, February 22nd
Do you ever have that feeling that someone is out to get you?  Get used to it, because Gotcha is back! The highly intense game of water and strategy is back on campus! Gotcha is open to all (full-time) students, staff, and faculty! Be sure to check out the rules during sign up. Sign up begins on February 11th during lunch in the Dining Commons and ends on Friday, February 15th. The game is $1 with a Belhaven ID! Gotcha action begins on February 25th at 1:00pm and ends on April 12th at 5:00pm! Remember: Know the rules, trust no one and stay dry!

Gotcha: Monday, February 25th – Friday, April 12th  
GOTCHA starts today, February 25th at 1:00pm! All disputes, appeals, questions and inquiries should be sent to the Jury at thejury@belhaven.edu. Gotcha will end on Friday, April 12th at 5:00pm. Remember: Know the rules, trust no one and stay dry!

Outdoor Movie Night: Friday, March 22nd   
Come join the Belhaven Activities Team for a movie night on Friday, Match 22nd! The movie will be at the Football practice field and you can enjoy free candy, popcorn, and drinks! In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown in the Student Center Commons.

Spring Formal: April 12th
Join us for a night full of dancing and great food in the gorgeous setting of spring at this year’s Spring Formal Dance! This year’s Spring Formal will be held at the Castlewoods Country Club in Brandon from 9:00pm-12:00am. Formal attire. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets will be sold, April 9th - Friday, April 13th in the Dining Commons during lunch and dinner. Tickets on Friday will be sold at lunch ONLY.  You must show a Belhaven ID to purchase your ticket. All guests must be signed in with a Belhaven student. Directions will be available in all Residence Halls and the first floor of The Cube.

Escape to the Lake: April 15th
Do you need a sweet escape before finals? Come to Escape to the Lake for an outdoor dinner, some great relaxation, and quality recreation! Escape to the Lake will be held at the Football Practice Field near the Gillespie Lake from 4:30pm-7:00pm. Sponsored by the Office of Intramurals and Activities.

 

Fall 2012

Square Dance: August 24
Yes, you read right! The annual Square Dance is open to all Belhaven University Students this year! Come out in your best outfit and join the Belhaven Activities Team as we dance square dance style! There will be food and refreshments in the Student Center and all of the fun will begin at 8pm!

Mississippi Braves Night: August 25
The Mississippi Braves are hosting Belhaven University on August 25th! Present your Belhaven ID at the ticketing gate for a $5 ticket! The game starts at 6pm at the Mississippi Braves Stadium in Pearl, MS.  Meet in the Student Center at 5pm to carpool! Directions to the stadium will be in residence halls and on the first floor of the Cube.

Movie night (Labor Day Weekend): September 1
Enjoy a great movie over the break! Come to the showing of Men in Black III on Saturday, September 1st at 7:00 pm in the Student Center Theatre and a matinee showing on Sunday, September 2nd at 2pm. Enjoy free popcorn and soft drinks!

Luau: September 7
Limbo, potato sack races, live DJ, and Hula Hoop contests are just some of the fun things going on at the Luau! Enjoy the pig roast, smoothies and many other hors d' oeuvres' from 8:00pm-10:00pm outdoors behind Preston (if inclement weather, event will be hosted in the first floor of the Student Center).

Belhaven Late Night September 21
Come out to this year's Belhaven Late Night! On Friday, September 21st, Belhaven Activities Team and Belhaven Intramurals will be having games, a movie, and food! At 7pm in the Student Center and the Student Center Theater, students will be competing for a coveted prize by playing Madden 2013 on PS3 (signup in the Cube 103 or Friday night at 6pm).  At 9pm in Rugg Arena and the Auxiliary Gym, students will be invited to play CTF Dodgeball (a combination of capture the flag and dodge ball), and finally, at 10pm, the movie Brave will be showing! Come enjoy popcorn, candy, and sodas at the Football Practice Field (in the case of inclement weather, the movie will be moved to the Student Center)!

Hidden Blazer: October 11
All students are invited to participate in a campus wide scavenger hunt! The scavenger hunt will begin on Thursday, October 11th at 10am.  The first clue will be provided on the BAT Facebook page at.  Each clue will lead you to the next and the winner will be announced at the Homecoming Game on October 13th.

Homecoming Dance: October 13
Celebrate this year's Homecoming Court and annual festivities! The Homecoming Dance will be held at Reservoir Pointe from 9:00pm-12:00pm. Casual dress. Directions will be available in all Residence Halls as well as the first floor of The Cube. Admission is FREE with a Belhaven ID. All guests must be signed in with a Belhaven student.

Pumpkin Carving Tailgate October 20th
BAT will be hosting a Pumpkin Carving Tailgate before the volleyball game at 1pm! Come out and enjoy pizza, Chick-fil-A, drinks, and pumpkins! Everything will be provided by BAT and the carving will begin at 11am outside of Rugg Arena.

Time Out!: December 3rd
BAT hosts the annual Time Out event on December 3rd! Come take a break from studying and join us in the student center from 7:30-9:30 pm and enjoy a movie, a video game tournament sponsored by Intramurals, BINGO sponsored by BAT, and lots of food!
