2010-11 BELHAVEN LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (BLC)
The Belhaven Leadership Council (BLC) is the student leadership arm of the Belhaven University student body. As such, its members serve as the primary student body representatives. Students are encouraged to communicate their interests, questions and concerns to BLC officers.
The BLC exists to serve the best interests of the student body by giving distinctive Christian leadership in all areas of its influence.

PRESIDENT – Andrew Gipson
As BLC President, Andrew is the chief student body representative. He coordinates all BLC work and represents students in a host of formal and informal settings. He also works closely with the Director of Student Leadership and regularly dialogues with other University administrators and faculty. VICE PRESIDENT – Darren Terpstra
As Vice President, Darren is responsible for the oversight of the BLC web presence and assists with the administration of the BLC. He will also recruit students to assist with various elections and contributions on the web such as editorials, photos and event coverage. CAMPUS LIFE COORDINATOR – Kourtney Clark
As Campus Life Coordinator, Kourtney aggressively listens to students’ needs, observations and questions. She meets regularly with the Dean of Student Life and other University administrators to discuss issues related to areas such as residence life, food services and student center services. STUDENT COORDINATOR OF ACTIVITIES – Blakeney Hatcliff
As Student Coordinator of Activities, Blakeney works closely with the Coordinator of Student Leadership & Activities in planning and implementing the University activities program. STUDENT COORDINATOR OF INTRAMURALS – Jessica Akiona
As Student Coordinator of Intramurals, Jessica works closely with the Coordinator of Student Leadership & Intramurals in planning and implementing the University intramural program. COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR – Jonathan Kalehoff
As Community Outreach Coordinator, Jonathan creates, organizes and implements community outreach projects for student groups of all sizes. STUDENT MINISTRIES COORDINATOR – Luke Mittwede
As Student Ministries Coordinator, Luke networks with student ministry organizations and offers ministry-related events and services for the student body. As the White Columns Editor, Janelle is responsible for the creation and production of the University yearbook.
