Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Sports Medicine and Exercise Science Program

I chose to come to Belhaven University because… When I was a junior in high school, I visited my brother, who was a freshman at Belhaven at the time.  I fell in love with the campus and with the people I met.  Even as a visiting high school student, everyone went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.  I was not a serious student upon entering college, but during my tenure at Belhaven, I became one, and I never regretted my choice to spend four years there.  

One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University is… The professors in the Sports Medicine and Biology Departments at Belhaven served as incredible mentors for me, but they were also my friends.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them inside and outside of the classroom.  God used them to set the course of my life. 

Because of my degree from Belhaven University… I am currently in the midst of taking a year off from school before embarking on a seven-year MD/PhD program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.  Although the path in front of me is long (and slightly daunting), I believe Belhaven has prepared me academically, physically, and spiritually for what is ahead.

One word to describe your experience at Belhaven:  Memorable
