The area of Community Outreach strives to impact and reach out to the lives of students at Belhaven by serving the Jackson community through service. The students involved in Community Outreach are a diverse group who come together for the sole purpose of service. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - This is a special opportunity for the Belhaven staff, faculty, and students to come together as one and serve the surrounding Jackson community. There are no classes on this day creating the perfect opportunity to better the lives of others.
Students may have the opportunity to volunteer at concerts taking place in the area. This experience may include working promotion or Food for the Hungry tables. Students are also allowed to see portions of the concert while not working at one of the tables.
Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
