At Belhaven:  Greg Hawkins serves as the Dean of Students, overseeing all residence life activities, including housing, hall programs, discipline/crisis issues, international student care, and selecting and developing the residence life staff. He also oversees the career, dining, and counseling services of the campus. He plays a vital role by partnering with other faculty and staff in fostering an environment where students can grow not only academically but relationally, spiritually, and socially.

At Belhaven:  Roderick serves as the Residence Life Coordinator. He is excited to serve all students in the office of Student Life. He wants all students to succeed academically and spiritually while at Belhaven. Roderick is looking forward to serving students through leadership opportunities, residence hall programming, and supportive learning environments in the residence halls.

Kelly Berkompas

Hobbies/Interests:  Reading, organization/calendars, spending time with friends, making jewelry, going on walks, watching sports (especially Chicago teams), phone dates with long distance friends and family, and watching Parks and Rec on Netflix.

At Belhaven:  Kelly serves as the Resident Director of Caldwell Hall. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to pour into the lives of students at Belhaven. Kelly seeks to create an environment where students can grow holistically - spiritually, academically, emotionally, and socially. Kelly has team of six wonderful resident assistants, and is looking forward to working with them to meet both the practical and relational needs of Caldwell residents.

Katelyn Deans

Hobbies/Interests:  Watching The Office, hanging out at Deep South Pops, walking around the beautiful Belhaven neighborhood, creating Spotify playlists, spending time with people.

At Belhaven:  Katelyn Deans serves as the Resident Director of Gillespie Hall. In addition to managing the building and overseeing the safety and comfort of its residents, she is thrilled for the opportunity to encourage and disciple her team of 8 Resident Assistants. She strives, along with the RAs, to create a residence hall environment that is not just a place to live, but to learn, grow, and thrive in community with others.

Rachel Loftus

Hobbies/Interests:  Traveling anywhere, drinking lots of good coffee, spending too much time on Netflix, trying new recipes, watching the sunset, and spending time with people.

At Belhaven:  Rachel Loftus is the Resident Director of Helen White Hall. She is blessed with the opportunity to serve and encourage her residents as she lives alongside them. In addition to taking care of students’ physical needs, Rachel strives to get to know them in order to meet their emotional and spiritual needs. Together with her team of five Resident Assistants, she strives to create a community that fosters growth in every area of the lives of the ladies at Belhaven and to set an example of seeking Christ.

Hobbies/Interests:  Spending time with family and friends, watching movies, listening to music, traveling, and relaxing.

At Belhaven:  Roz serves as the Resident Director for the University Village. She is passionate about working with college students, and helping them during this transitional season of their lives. She hopes to be a living example of Christ’s love and grace, and to truly live out Belhaven’s motto to “serve, not to be served.” Roz, along with her staff of six Resident Assistants, serve the students of this community, and work to see them grow academically, spiritually, and relationally.

Steve Smith

Title:  Director of Food Services

Hometown:  Liverpool, England

Hobbies/Interests:  Huge soccer fan (Everton FC) and avid golfer, but more recently free time is spent with my amazing 3 year old as we navigate all the new things he is learning together and my more amazing 3 month old daughter.

At Belhaven:  I am responsible for all aspects of food service including breakfast, lunch and dinner in the cafeteria, the shoebird coffee shop and any and all events on campus that require food. From 300 people banquets in the Dr Billy Kim building to coffee set up in the CFTA.

Jim Strickland

Hobbies/Interests:  Discovering new music, playing/watching sports (especially Atlanta, Auburn, and Belhaven teams), CrossFit, and spending time with family and friends.

At Belhaven:  Jim serves as the Resident Director of Robertson/Wells Hall. He is passionate about discipleship and developing young men into leaders. Jim has a team of 12 strong resident assistants and he enjoys working with them as they serve the students of Robertson and Wells.

Catherine Travis

Hobbies/Interests:  Reading, decorating, fishing, spending time with family, and being active in the Ministry of Christ.

At Belhaven:  Catherine Travis serves as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of students. She is thankful for the opportunity and believes that it is a blessing to work with the Student Life team at Belhaven University. She serves as the initial point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and the public seeking assistance from the Student Life division. Catherine is passionate as she serves the students and university with a Christian spirit and continues to exemplify the meaning of “To serve, not to be served.”

Hobbies/Interests:  Traveling, running, reading, chasing her toddler around, and spending time with her family and friends.

At Belhaven:  Christa Williams serves as the Campus Counselor and offers therapeutic services to traditional undergraduate students. Her office in Cleland Hall is a place where students can come to get relief from the burdens they may be carrying. She is here at Belhaven to walk alongside students so they can be heard and known while working towards healing.
