Belhaven University Appoints Dr. Bobbie Loveless as School of Nursing Dean

April 16, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Bobbie Loveless as the Dean of the School of Nursing. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in nursing education and administration, Dr. Loveless brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to her new role.

With her distinguished career, commitment to lifelong learning, and dedication to servant leadership, Dr. Loveless will undoubtedly inspire and empower our nursing students to excel and make a difference in the world of healthcare.”

Loveless's journey in nursing education began with her pursuit of academic excellence, culminating in a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership and Administration from Samford University. Her educational background also includes a Master of Science in Nursing in Nursing Education, as well as Bachelor of Science from William Carey University. With post-doctoral work towards a Doctorate of Nursing Practice to Philosophy Doctorate in Nursing Education and Administration, Loveless exemplifies a commitment to lifelong learning and advancement in her field.

Loveless played an integral role in the development of Belhaven University’s nursing program, serving as an advisor and member of the School of Nursing Advisory Council from 2014 to 2018. Her extensive experience includes 17 years of leadership positions in nursing education, where she has demonstrated expertise in program development, curriculum design, accreditation, and personnel management.

In her new role, Loveless will provide servant leadership to facilitate the overall administration and direction of the School of Nursing at Belhaven University. She is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment that promotes program success and student achievement. Her passion for leadership development among pre-licensure nursing students reflects her commitment to shaping the future of nursing.

Recognized for her scholarly contributions, Loveless has presented at national conferences and co-authored articles in reputable nursing publications. Her dedication to excellence has earned her accolades such as Educator of the Year by Gulf Coast Woman’s Magazine and the Lighthouse Business Council.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Loveless cherishes time with her family and friends. Married for 27 years to her husband, Chris, she is an active member of her church. She believes in the calling of nursing as a means to serve others and embodies the values of compassion and excellence in all her endeavors.
