Dear Belhaven Parents,
While your son or daughter is growing in independence, we realize it is still very important that you are involved in his or her life and decisions. Students need to feel supported by their parents, regardless of how far or near they are from home. They also need to feel connected to Belhaven University, their classmates, and the faculty and staff. The more connected and empowered students feel at Belhaven, the more likely they are to persist through and graduate. So whether or not your son or daughter verbalizes it, they are looking to you for advice and support.
This blog is designed specifically for Belhaven parents to provide you with pertinent information regarding campus events, important dates, tips and information from faculty and staff, and student resources, so that you are better prepared to offer that advice and support. The Parent's Blog will be updated regularly during the academic year (August – May). If you are not already subscribed and would like to receive the blog, please enter your email address in the right column of the blog home page. As both a staff member and a Belhaven parent myself, I understand the importance of having a place to ask questions, gain information, and connect with the campus where your student attends. Feel free to ask questions and interact with this blog as I will personally monitor it.
