Belhaven University Announces New Ph.D. in Business Administration
JACKSON, Miss. (May 12, 2026) - Belhaven University has announced the addition of a new Ph.D. in Business Administration, with its inaugural cohort scheduled to begin in August 2026.
“The Ph.D. in Business Administration is designed to produce rigorous, original research that addresses the most pressing challenges facing organizations and society today,” said Dr. Brett Andrews, dean of the School of Business. “In a world being driven by rapid advances in artificial intelligence and technology, we are proud to open this door for exceptional candidates ready to make a lasting mark on the ever-evolving world of business.”
The research-focused doctoral program is designed for professionals pursuing academic, research, and leadership roles in business. Students will engage with advanced topics in leadership, strategy, and organizational behavior while developing skills in critical analysis and original research.
Delivered fully online, the program offers flexibility for working professionals while maintaining a rigorous academic experience. Applicants to the program will select a specialization aligned with their academic and professional interests. The program does not require GRE or GMAT scores for admission.
The program emphasizes scholarly contribution and theoretical development, distinguishing it from practice-oriented doctoral degrees. Students will explore leadership and organizational theory in depth while participating in the broader academic community.
A Ph.D. in Business Administration prepares graduates for careers in academia, research, consulting, and executive leadership. Graduates often pursue faculty positions at colleges and universities, as well as research and consulting roles in corporate, nonprofit, and policy settings.
The degree also equips professionals for leadership and administrative roles that require advanced analytical, strategic, and theoretical expertise. Many Ph.D. graduates contribute to their fields through published research and presentations at academic and professional conferences.
