Name: Greg Hawkins Title: Dean of Student Life At Belhaven Since: 2006 Hometown: Chicago, IL Degree: B.A., Biblical Studies, Belhaven University; M.A., Higher Education, Geneva College, Ed.D., Azusa Pacific University (2015) Hobbies/Interests: Relaxing with family and friends, playing and watching sports, watching movies, and when time allows – relaxing on the beach At Belhaven: Greg Hawkins serves as the Dean of Student Life, overseeing all residence life activities, including housing, hall programs, discipline/crisis issues, and selecting and developing the residence life staff. He also oversees the counseling and dining services of the campus. He plays a vital role by partnering with other faculty and staff in fostering an environment where students can grow not only academically but relationally, spiritually, and socially.
Name: Daniel James Browne Title: Resident Director, Robertson and Wells Hall Hometown: Dallas, TX Degree: B.S., Business Administration, Belhaven University Hobbies/Interests: Movies, Racquetball, Reading, Studying Music At Belhaven: Daniel Browne is the Resident Director for the men's halls of Robertson and Wells. He has a staff of twelve resident assistants and an Assistant Resident Director. He administers the services of a residence hall and seeks to equip his staff of Resident Assistants in their ministry to students, while also being available and accessible to individual residents as needs arise. Through daily tasks and communication with students and staff, he hopes to be preparing these young men to serve Christ Jesus in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas. The number one way he seeks to do that is through the Lordship of Christ in his own life, letting that be the example to those he is over. Name: Mary Downing Forester Title: Coordinator of Student Life and Resident Director of Caldwell Hall Hometown: West Palm Beach, FL Degree: B.S., Accounting, Belhaven University; M.A., Higher Education, Geneva College, (2012) Hobbies/Interests: Movies, Reading, Spending Time with Family and Friends, Telephone Pictionary At Belhaven: Mary Downing implements programs that seek to educate students' lives during their time at the university and beyond. By overseeing a predominately freshmen residence hall, Mary Downing helps to create an inclusive living and learning environment, which gives students the opportunity to grow in their faith, make lifelong friends, and be part of an amazing Christ-centered community. Name: Glenda Grant Title: Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Student Life Hometown: Jackson, MS Degree: B.S., Business Administration, Jackson State University Hobbies/Interests: Planning Events, Mentoring, Traveling, Working with Youth At Belhaven: Glenda has the opportunity to not only assist in the administration of the department, but also communicate with students and really get to know many of them on a deep level. Her job allows her to listen to their concerns, tell them what God expects, and share life learned lessons.
Name: Jodi Krogman Title: Resident Director, Gillespie Hall Hometown: Brookings, SD Degree: B.A., Elementary Education, Oklahoma Wesleyan University Hobbies/Interests: Baking/Cooking, Reading, Shopping, Spending time with Family and Friends At Belhaven: as the International Student Coordinator and Gillespie Resident Director, Jodi has discovered a passion for building relationships with college-aged students. Through fostering a safe and loving community, she provides opportunities for students to grow in their walk with the Lord, to discover their potential, and to help prepare them to make a difference in the world beyond their time at Belhaven. Jodi also works closely with a diverse group of students by helping them adjust and transition to a new culture.
Title: Assistant Resident Director of Robertson and Wells Halls Hometown: Charleston, SC Degrees: B.A., Philosophy, Belhaven University Hobbies/Interests: Running, Basketball, Guitar, Exercise & Nutriton, Sports, Reading At Belhaven: Stefan Sanchez is the Assistant Resident Director for the men's halls of Robertson and Wells. He assists the RD, Daniel Browne, in serving the Residents Assistants and students living in the residence halls. He lives among the residents which enables him to build relationships and be involved with students on a daily basis. Through campus activities such as playing pickup sports, attending Belhaven events, or just hanging out on the hall, Stefan is able to help the students acclimate and adjust to college.
Name: Katelyn Joy Wolfe Title: Resident Director of Helen White Hall Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO Degrees: B.A., Art, Belhaven University Hobbies/Interests: Photography, Arts and Crafts, Calligraphy, Reading, Movies, Sports, Singing, Guitar, and being with Friends and Family At Belhaven: Katelyn serves as the Helen White Resident Director. She hopes to encourgage students to engage intentionally in their studies and activites, make new friends, pursue involvement on campus, and deepen their faith or learn more about a personal faith in the Lord. Her team of five students work together to be supportive to students while at Belhaven through relationships, words of encouragement, listening, and being available to them. She hopes that by the grace of God she can be used as a humble vessel to bring glory to His name. |
