Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Visual Arts Program

I chose to come to Belhaven because…of the Christian atmosphere, the reputation the art department garners, and the strong focus on drawing and its relation to art-making as a whole.

One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University…is my relationship with Dr. Bob Pennebaker, the chair of the art department. He has an honest care for his students, and he has mentored me and guided me in art-making and drawing. It is because of his care and attention that I have developed as an artist and am becoming more sensitive to the aesthetic beauty around me.

Because of my degree from Belhaven University…I will have opportunities to further my education in graduate school and be able to teach others in the values of worldview and aesthetics.
