Welcome Week

Welcome Week is designed to introduce new freshman and transfer students to all Belhaven has to offer and to welcome returning students back to campus for a new semester.

All students are invited to participate in this action-packed week of events planned to help form friendships, acclimate to campus and the community, and set you up for a successful year. New students meet in upperclassmen-led peer groups before the first day of class to answer frequently asked questions, help learn about Belhaven’s campus and traditions, and forge lasting relationships. Every event that we have planned for this week will help you get acquainted with our campus and the surrounding area, meet your fellow Blazers, and understand that you belong here and are an important part of our university.

Welcome Week for new students will begin on Friday, August 21, and classes begin on Monday, August 24.  See link below to view the Welcome Week schedule, but keep in mind, the schedule may change as we continue to prepare for a safe return for all of Belhaven University.

Full Schedule

The first day of Welcome Week on August 21 will begin at Check-In on the second floor of Dr. Billy Kim International Center (Athletes who have moved in on Monday and Wednesday do not need to check-in on this date). View a map of our campus. If you are a residential student, you may move in to your residence hall after Check-In. You should be receiving an email from Belhaven’s Campus Life Director with detailed move-in instructions for each residence hall.

After Check-In and Move-In, an optional Family Lunch will be provided (get tickets for lunch at Check-In), and Academic Advising and Registration will be available from 1:00-5:00pm. At 5:00pm, ALL students will meet in their Peer Groups for the Welcome Week Kickoff where you will meet your Peer Leaders and hear a message from Belhaven University President, Dr. Roger Parrott. Peer Group Dinner is at 6:00pm followed by our first exciting event of the week, Late Night Hangout! Events continue throughout the weekend and the following week, and you can view the schedule online for details.

This year has been unprecedented and Belhaven is implementing many safety precautions to protect our students, faculty, and staff as we begin this new semester. Please read our Belhaven Promise expectations and guidelines as you prepare to come to campus.
