The definition of the word commence is "to have or make a beginning," hence the term commencement ceremony where diplomas are given to show all of the hard work and time that has gone into the degree as well as to represent the beginning of a new chapter in life.
The commencement ceremony is a time of celebration in a job well done, and a time of excitement as graduates look toward the new future of possibilities with the diploma they have worked so hard to receive. For more information on the commencement ceremonies at any one of Belhaven University's four campuses, have questions about times, speakers, what to wear, or even shoes? "Make a beginning" to the answers by reading more below.
Students, you can read additional information about graduation in BlazeNet.
