Belhaven Health and Wellness Welcome Dr. Ben Kerr

October 14, 2011 (Jackson) Belhaven’s Health and Wellness Program continues with its next series called “The Back and Exercise”, and will be presented by Ben Kerr, MD (Neurosurgery) at the Barber Auditorium, October 20.

This next series in conjunction with Blue Cross Blue Shield Health, will prove to be a helpful and informative session, and will cover all aspects of how to take care of your back, including helpful exercises to strengthen your back. Come learn more about how you can improve your overall wellness through better back care.

Dr. Kerr Graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 1997 with a B.S. in Chemistry. He attended The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham 1998-2002 and then completed a Neurosurgery residency at The George Washington University in Washington, DC., in 2009. During this time he was awarded a Clinical/Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD in Neuro-oncology and movement disorders, 2005-2006. He is currently in practice with Jackson Neurosurgery Clinic for the past two years with special interest in minimally invasive spinal surgery, brain tumors, and patient education.

Don’t forget about the 7th Annual Homecoming 5k Run/Walk happening October 22 at 8:30 A.M. There is no registration fee and the starting point will be at the Heidelberg Gymnasium. Participants can race at their own pace on our beautiful campus walking trail. Free Prizes and T-shirts will be awarded to all participants! Join this fun, family-oriented event!
