Belhaven deepens Korean ties with New Exchange ProgramAugust 20, 2009Belhaven College has formed a sister school partnership with Sungkyul University of Korea, which deepens Belhavens existing exchange programs with Korean universities, which now total three. Sungkyul University is located outside of Seoul, Korea, and the university aims to raise up men and women of faithful character through religious training, as well as raising up professionals through education and study.
The partnership with Sungkyul University was formalized on August 12, 2009 at the Belhaven College service of dedication for the 2009-10 school year. Dr. Jeong Sang-un, President of Sungkyul University, and Dr. Roger Parrott, President of Belhaven College, signed the agreement that will allow the exchange of both students and faculty between the sister schools.
Dr. Parrott emphasizes the shared Christian emphasis of each institution as he states, Sungkyul University is a Christ-centered institution that shares its ideals with Belhaven, and we pray that God will bless our new partnership as we follow the path before us.
