Memorial Service of Dr. Newt Wilson

May 10, 2013 (Jackson) - Dr. Newt Wilson, friend and former Belhaven University president, died on Tuesday, April 23. For those of you who were not able to make it to Dr. Wilson's Memorial Service on April 27, we have provided a link where you can listen to the entire service.

After a very difficult physical battle, attempting to become strong enough to be eligible for a kidney and liver transplant, the Tulane Medical Center doctors told his wife, Becky, there was nothing more they could for Dr. Wilson. After returning home to Hattiesburg, he went home to be with the Lord at 3:45 p.m.

Dr. Roger Parrott, President of Belhaven University, said, “I thank God for the wonderful life of our friend Newt Wilson. It hurts to imagine him no longer walking this campus, being at football games, and being our first champion for Belhaven University. Everyone who loves Belhaven is significantly better off because of Newt Wilson. Even if you didn’t know him, you can see his hand-prints all over this campus in the lives of thousands of Belhaven alumni.”
