New Chapel Schedule

August 2, 2010: A diverse list of speakers will again be attending Belhaven University in 2010-2011. In addition to the familiar faces of John Perkins, a national leader in racial reconciliation, and B.J. Johnston, who will perform his biographical show on John Wesley, "The Man from Aldersgate," BU also looks forward to hosting new guests, such as Michael OH, founder and president of Christ Bible Seminary in Japan.

Every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., most of Belhaven's campus takes a break from work and classes for a fifty minute chapel service. The usual chapel schedule begins with a time of praise through singing followed by a guest speaker. Quite often the services also include special performances by Belhaven dancers, the Hip-hop Dance Club, members of Belhaven University Theater, and others. The chapel service is one of the many ways in which Belhaven University exhibits and enacts its University mission of preparing students spiritually for effective interaction with the world.

Belhaven University, formerly Belhaven College, prepares men and women academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas. Founded in 1883, the University now serves over 3,000 students from campuses in Jackson, Memphis, Orlando, Houston, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and online.
