Mrs. Nancy Bateman, Adjunct Cello Professor at Belhaven University since 2005, received both her Bachelor and Master's Degree in Music from Wichita State University and pursued advanced musical studies at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

Along with cello lessons, she teaches the String Methods Course, team teaches String Pedagogy, and has also taught String bass at Belhaven University. Since she started and maintained a String Music Program both at First Presbyterian Day School since 1999, the Veritas School from 2002-2010, she has years of experience teaching students of all ages. Mrs. Bateman has also taught at various Summer String Orchestra Workshops and the POI camp sponsored by the Mississippi Symphony.

She has performed as a cellist in the Wichita, Omaha, Lincoln Symphonies, and has performed with the Mississippi Symphony since 1993 until the present. She performs regularly as a soloist in various ensembles for weddings, funerals, and church services.
