Ms. Andrea Edwards is a dedicated nurse educator who joined Belhaven University in 2026 as Director of the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and Assistant Professor of Nursing. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2014. Further, she demonstrated her commitment to excellence in nursing education by obtaining her Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential in 2023.
With more than 20 years of experience in nursing, Ms. Edwards brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her role. Her professional background spans academic and hospital-based nursing education, nursing administration, and clinical practice, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on healthcare and nursing instruction.
Ms. Edwards has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to nursing education, receiving the Mississippi Nurse Educator of the Year Award and the Mississippi Innovative Teaching Award from the Mississippi Organization of Associate Degree Nurses. These honors reflect her dedication to advancing nursing education and fostering student success.
