Dr. Tangie Hales, an esteemed scholar and leader, plays a transformative role in the realm of nursing education. Dr. Hales earned her Ph.D. in Nursing Leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2015.

Since joining Belhaven University in 2021, Dr. Hales has assumed the pivotal role of Director of the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and then on to Dean of Nursing. With over 20 years of diverse nursing experience, including 13 years dedicated to nursing education, Dr. Hales is not only a seasoned professional but a passionate and innovative nurse educator. Her expertise, situated at the nexus of medical-surgical nursing and research, is marked by a dedicated focus on addressing health disparities, demonstrating her commitment to advancing healthcare equity.

Dr. Hales is an alumna of Leadership Mississippi (2018) and the Mississippi Nurses Leadership Institute (2018), showcasing her commitment to leadership development. In 2023, she achieved the distinguished title of National League for Nursing LEAD Fellow, a testament to her exceptional leadership in nursing education at a national level. Highly recognized for her unwavering dedication to advancing nursing practice, education, and leadership, Dr. Hales, as a trailblazer, aspires to inspire the next generation of nursing professionals at Belhaven University and beyond.
