Dr. Justin Kelly, associate professor of psychology, is a licensed professional counselor in Mississippi and Louisiana and a board-approved counseling supervisor in the state of MS. His clinical experience includes working in various counseling clinics and an inpatient behavioral health unit. Dr. Kelly has experience working with various types of mental health disorders, ranging from mild to severe mental health issues.  He is trained in EMDR and Emotionally Focused Therapy. His clinical and academic interests are centered around trauma-informed care, interpersonal neurobiology, and attachment theory, in addition to research on gratitude and hope.

Dr. Kelly directs the honors psychology research program, where students engage in original psychological research. Under his leadership, students have presented their research at local and state-wide conferences. Dr. Kelly is the Psychology and Social Sciences division chair at the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.
